ABOUT ME – PIERRE TRAN

In 1979, I met my last piano teacher, Thibaut Sanrame (1932-2001) who was a student of Vincenzo Scaramuzza (1885-1968) considered as one of the best piano teachers in history.

Owing to this experience, I began teaching
piano at a young age, more precisely in
1980. For many years I founded my search
for musical beauty on the principles of the
Scaramuzza’s school, following the genius of
the founder

My personal journey led me to India during
a period of 10 years (1988-1998) where my conception of music took on a spiritual dimension. Since my return to Europe, via France and
the UK, I run a piano learning centre, a laboratory of research.

My students come from over the world to benefit from the methods which I love to share.

My knowledge is multidisciplinary, and always
founded on a synthetic vision. This includes
piano construction and tuning, as I am also interested in the relationship between the artist
and technician. My work on the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach (2020) is the follow-up of
an essay which was published in 2009.
